Attendees to the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) annual conference in Chicago are invited to attend a presentation by WestEd’s Aida Walqui on the topic of Next Generation Science Standards and English Language Learners: The Development of Deep and Generative Practices.

Walqui, Director of the Teacher Professional Development Program at WestEd, will speak to the major theoretical and pedagogical shifts that science teachers need to engage in as they address the development of their students’ deep and generative understanding, skills, and language. Instead of a fragmented approach, Walqui promotes integration in the ever-encompassing and ambitious progressions of analytical practices and language uses.

Walqui will present on Thursday, March 12, 3:30-4:30pm (Central Time), McCormick Place West, Chicago.
