Join WestEd for an informative webinar showcasing findings related to a newly released report, Launching the California Teacher Residency Grant Program: Findings from Year 1. Presenters will highlight how grant programs are rising to the challenge to prepare more teachers of color and discuss how programs have been adapting to the COVID-19 context.
This report summarizes learnings from the grant’s first year of implementation, 2019–20. It presents early evidence on leading indicators of employment outcomes, findings about how central aspects of grantee partnerships are functioning from the perspectives of key stakeholders, and learnings about how the current global pandemic, and associated school closures, impacted residencies.
Speakers will join to share reflections on establishing strong partnerships, the foundation for any strong residency program. Discussion will also focus on aligning programming to ensure coherence for pre-service teachers.
