WestEd is dedicated to supporting your efforts to improve the lives of children, youth, and adults. Join us for new online professional development, trainings, and support available across a range of topics. Designed to build leadership capacity and strengthen teaching knowledge and skills, our virtual service options give your teams access to a national network of peers and deliver timely, evidence-based guidance.

This summer, select from a variety of new short-duration digital course and workshop offerings that align with your rapidly changing schedules and learning environments and keep you moving forward.

Reading Apprenticeship: Transform instruction, strengthen literacy, build success.

Flexible Reading Apprenticeship online solutions will quickly get you started improving student literacy and will sustain your ongoing success through the summer and throughout the school year. Newest offerings feature synchronous summer intensive experiences followed by professional learning communities during the school year.

English Learners with Disabilities: Challenges, strategies, and tools for inclusive schools.

This two-day online summer institute is designed to help educators support English learners with disabilities. Participants will gain an understanding of how to implement evidence-based instructional strategies using supportive frameworks appropriate for online and site-based learning environments.

Formative Assessment: Empower students to monitor and direct their own learning.

This summer, evidence-based formative assessment professional development opportunities are available for teachers, coaches, and school and district leaders. Join us and learn how to shift teaching away from traditional instructional models toward more equitable practices that promote shared responsibility for learning between students and instructors. New virtual summer institutes include two tracks for teachers and leaders.
