Teresa Alonzo serves as the Associate Director of School Networks for WestEd’s Center for the Future of Teaching & Learning. She partners with school site leadership teams with a focus on using continuous improvement to support the implementation of California state standards.
Prior to joining WestEd, Alonzo served as an instructional coach, elementary and intermediate school principal, and Administrative Services Director for the Montebello (CA) Unified School District. She also served as the Assistant Director with the California Reading and Literature Project, Reading RESULTS initiative. Alonzo began her career as a Dual Language teacher and coordinator for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Alonzo is a mentor in the California Latino Superintendents and Administrators Mentoring Program and has worked as an institute facilitator for the Association of California Superintendents and Administrators academies.
Alonzo received a BS from the University of California, Davis, an MAEd from California State University, Los Angeles, and an EdD from the University of Southern California.
