Teacher Perspectives on a Math Educational Technology Platform: Boosting Formative Assessment and Embracing Mistakes

This presentation will discuss how, with funding from the U.S. Department of Education’s Education Innovation and Research Grant (EIR), Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) partnered with Lesley University to adapt the ASSISTments intervention, consisting of the ASSISTments math platform and a teacher professional learning community. WestEd led a study examining the efficacy of the intervention in supporting rural, high-needs middle school students’ math achievement and you’ll learn more about those findings.

Brezack investigates the efficacy of educational technology tools in supporting student learning, building on her PhD in developmental psychology with a certificate in education from the University of Chicago and prior research on young children’s learning through technology, informal interactions, and formal instruction.
