Lecture Session: Empowering Family, Friend, and Neighbor Caregivers Through Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation

Presenters: Silvia Velarde (Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Network [IECMHC], WestEd) and Lilla Pivnick (IECMHC Network, WestEd)
Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) consultation is an innovative, indirect infant and early childhood mental health service for FFN caregivers. In this session, the IECMHC Network will describe the vital role FFNs play in the caregiving ecosystem, introduce a tailored FFN consultation model, and reflect on descriptive data from their FFN consultation pilot.
Lecture Session: California’s Blueprint to Success: Implementing an Innovative Statewide Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant Training Program
Time: 2:30–3:30 p.m.
Presenters: Jennifer Miller (IECMHC, WestEd) and Debbie Reno-Smith (IECMHC Network, WestEd)
This session examines the development and implementation of California’s IECMH Consultant Training Program. Presenters will outline key stages of the program, share strategies for effective training and workforce development, and discuss lessons learned from the field. Data-driven insights will highlight the program’s impact, and attendees will gain practical considerations for applying similar approaches in their own contexts. A Q&A will provide additional opportunities for discussion, with post-session resources available for further exploration.
