Join WestEd at the annual SXSW EDU Conference & Festival, March 9 through 12, at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. SXSW EDU is where educators, leaders, and changemakers come together to explore bold solutions and inspire real impact. 

Aleata Hubbard, Saroja Warner, and John Jacobs will present a workshop session, Designing Belonging: Centering Identity in Math EdTech, on March 9, 2–3:30 p.m., at the Austin Marriott, Downtown in room 403/404. 

Explore how EdTech can center student identity, culture, and lived experience in math learning. This workshop introduces resource briefs that translate culturally responsive teaching into product design, featuring real-world examples and reflection prompts. Participants will use the briefs in a collaborative design challenge to create math tools that build belonging and relevance for Black and Latino/a/e students and those experiencing poverty.
