Working collaboratively with our K–12 partners, we identify needs, align objectives, and create and deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of students and schools.
Our team brings specialized expertise in technology and inclusive research and development to develop innovations in mathematics teaching and learning across a range of domains—from learning acceleration to pathways in mathematics to AI applications.
We support ambitious mathematics teaching and learning for students and teachers through professional development (PD) for teachers and leaders; technical assistance to schools, districts, and LEAs; and research and evaluation.
Our Curriculum-Based Programs
K–12 Readiness Programs
Carnegie Math Pathways has adapted its Pathways solutions and WestEd’s Aim for Algebra curriculum to help reduce opportunity gaps and successfully prepare students for college level mathematics, with a series of both high school- and college-readiness mathematics courses offered in middle school and high school, respectively. In pre- and posttests for both courses, student across all groups have shown meaningful gains.
Math Pathways & Pitfalls
Math Pathways & Pitfalls K–8 intervention curriculum, developed at WestEd, is founded on core principles for how children learn mathematics and a vision of rigorous and equitable academic achievement. In scientific research studies, Math Pathways & Pitfalls significantly increased the academic achievement of diverse students in all grades tested.

Your secondary mathematics teachers receive detailed, research-based training in topics related to slope, linearity, linear functions, and algebraic thinking. Participants strengthen mathematical and pedagogical knowledge by analyzing and discussing video clips, performance tasks, lesson plans, and student work from mathematics classrooms.
Learning and Teaching Linear Functions: Facilitator Training
Training is designed as a companion to our teacher professional development by supporting mathematics leaders in learning to implement and facilitate high-quality teacher PD workshops.
Geometric Transformations: Teacher Professional Development
Secondary mathematics teachers strengthen their knowledge and skills related to proportionality, congruence, and similarity, developed from the perspective of geometric transformation. Participants strengthen mathematical and pedagogical knowledge in these areas by analyzing and discussing video clips, performance tasks, lesson plans, and student work from mathematics classrooms.
Geometric Transformations: Facilitator Training
Training is designed as a companion to our Geometrics Transformations teacher PD by supporting mathematics leaders in learning to implement and facilitate high-quality teacher PD workshops.
Making Mathematics Accessible to English Language Learners
When educators differentiate instruction and assessment for students with diverse language needs, they give all students equitable access to a rigorous mathematics curriculum. In this workshop geared for all grade levels, teachers learn practical, research-based strategies for encouraging excellence for multilingual learners with rich, rigorous, standards-based mathematics.
