Overview
Julie Webb brings more than 25 years of experience in literacy and professional learning to her work with educators around the country. As a senior program associate with the Assessment for Learning team, Webb collaborates with education agencies to advance accessible, evidence-based assessment practices, helping teachers make informed decisions that improve instruction and student learning.
Webb’s work includes designing and leading professional learning—both in person and online—and creating resources that support assessment literacy and effective instruction. She leads research and evaluation projects aimed at measuring and scaling the impact of professional learning for educators.
Webb is a former classroom teacher and reading specialist with National Board Certification in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy. Prior to joining WestEd, she developed literacy curricula and assessments for national publishers and education nonprofit organizations. Additionally, Webb led a research team for the University of California tasked with designing and testing a framework for family engagement to improve literacy and language learning for emergent and early readers.
