Laia Tiderman is an expert on data governance, privacy, and contractual safeguards focusing on efforts that democratize data across multiple sectors.
As the Associate Director for the Data Integration Support Center (DISC), Tiderman solutions with states to support the maturity and modernization of integrated data systems. Tiderman leads the development of DISC tools and resources to support public agencies in their IDS modernization
Before joining WestEd, Tiderman provided leadership in accountability and data systems at the Maryland State Department of Education. She was the department’s first acting data officer under the direction of the state’s first chief data officer. As a former public servant, Tiderman understands the value of practical solutions and actionable information to inform decision-making that benefits communities.
