The Behavioral Assessment of Baby’s Emotional and Social Style (BABES) Toolkit: Intervention Strategies for Developmental Guidance and Support assists early childhood professionals to identify, and to help families address, areas in which their infants and toddlers (ages birth to 3) may be exhibiting challenging behavior. Based on the original BABES protocol, this Toolkit provides:

• Key background information about 24 behaviors (crying, difficulty sleeping, difficulty getting
  along with others, and more)
• Probing questions to help early childhood professionals explore parents’ concerns about any of
  the 24 behaviors
• Potential intervention strategies to address specific challenging behaviors

The Toolkit is an important resource for home visitors, mental health clinicians, early interventionists,
pediatricians, and other professionals who support infants, toddlers, and their families.
