Supporting Multilingual Learners With Disabilities

Practitioners today face the challenge of how to best provide instruction and intervention to support the language development and learning needs of all students. WestEd is pleased to offer two professional learning opportunities designed to enhance educators’ skills in providing linguistically responsive instruction, intervention, and support for multilingual learners with disabilities.

I valued the learning about the importance of collaboration and multiple data collection pieces to make decisions.

— Darlene Brown, Service Director,
Maranatha Christian Academy, Brooklyn Park, MN

My greatest takeaway is the importance of being purposeful with considering the whole child.

— Kristin Whitley, Principal, Dufur School, The Dalles, OR

What Our Participants Say

I now know that showing students the process (not just the finished polished exemplar) is equally important. I will be modeling a think aloud during the drafting process. I also feel better equipped to help students to avoid formulaic historical writing.
