Facilitating Belonging and Discourse in Mathematics: Tools and Resources From the Adult Numeracy in the Digital Era Project
Presenter: Brent Jackson
Strand: Academic Instruction
Time and Location: 1–2:15 p.m., Prairies 4
In this session, you will learn about resources developed by the Adult Numeracy in the Digital Era (ANDE) Project. Available at no cost as an open educational resource (OER), ANDE is an innovative adult numeracy course designed and tested to help you more effectively support learners for success in mathematics on the GED and beyond.
We will highlight two important dimensions of ANDE classrooms and the tools available to support teachers to enact these dimensions of ambitious instruction in the adult education context: (a) rich mathematical discourse and (b) social–emotional routines and activities.
