Overview

Lauryn Fullerton has more than 20 years of experience as an educator and system leader, having served as a secondary science educator, school leader, and central office leader in both traditional public schools and charter schools. Her work is national and focuses on partnering with school, district, and state education leaders to strengthen leadership and instructional capacity through executive coaching, strategic planning, and targeted professional development.

Prior to joining WestEd, Fullerton served as a Network Chief for Chicago Public Schools, where she managed a portfolio of 18 schools serving more than 10,000 students. In this role, she codified effective instructional and leadership practices and led professional learning that contributed to improved student outcomes. Fullerton was also the Founding Chief of Schools at Ednovate, a midsized charter management organization in Los Angeles, where she designed the network’s principal residency program and established the network’s leadership pathway. Earlier in her career, at Noble Schools in Chicago, Fullerton served as an instructor, assistant principal, and founding principal, a role in which she established the first charter high school in Illinois to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools.
