Noman Khanani is a Senior Research Associate with Research-Practice Partnerships at WestEd. He is an applied quantitative methodologist specializing in the design and analysis of experimental and quasi-experimental evaluations of education programs, interventions, and policies.
Khanani currently leads and supports applied research studies to inform policy decision-making for state and local educational agencies through REL-West, Northwest, and Mid-Atlantic. Most of his past and current work centers around improving outcomes for underrepresented and marginalized student populations.
Before joining WestEd, Khanani worked at the Boston College Center for Thriving Children, where he assessed the impact of integrated student support programs on a number of educational outcomes. He was a researcher at Education Development Center, where he led and supported research and technical assistance efforts for the REL-Northeast & Islands.
Khanani has published and presented research at academic conferences on topics including factors affecting teacher labor markets, student-centered and online learning, and integrated student support. He holds a PhD in educational measurement and evaluation from Boston College.
