NARRATOR
Mathematics is more than memorizing procedures. It’s a discipline rooted in logic, reasoning and the problem-solving skills that are essential for success in school, careers and everyday life.
At WestEd, we believe every student has the potential to excel. We work to remove barriers and create building blocks for student success at every level of education.
Our work is grounded in the belief that every learner deserves high-quality mathematics instruction that promotes deep enduring understanding. That’s why we partner with schools, districts, states and institutes of higher education to deliver evidence-based professional learning, technical assistance, and research and evaluation services that improve mathematics teaching and learning.
We support educators in creating effective math learning environments that build confidence, accelerate learning and open doors for students at every level. From developing strong foundational skills in early childhood, to ensuring college and adult learners succeed in gateway math courses, we bring tailored solutions backed by decades of research and practical insight.
Our team designs and delivers high-quality professional development and curriculum support tailored to the needs of students, teachers and schools. We help education leaders implement comprehensive math pathways, strengthen instruction and expand access to the skills students need to advance.
WestEd’s research and evaluation team examines today’s most pressing challenges in math education, from learning acceleration to technology integration, including innovative uses of artificial intelligence, and provide actionable insights to guide decision-making that drives student success.
