Join WestEd at the National ESEA Conference, which will be held on January 30 through February 2, at the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City, Missouri. ESEA is the largest conference focused on federal education programs.

Session: Leadership in School Turnaround: Meeting People Where They Are and Going Forward Together

This session brings together two powerful frameworks  — the Four Domains for Rapid School Improvement from the Center on School Turnaround and the Leading by Convening blueprint — to address the assumptions that school and community stakeholders bring to turnaround efforts.

Session: Conducting Comprehensive Needs Assessments and Root Cause Analyses to Inform Improvement
Presenters: Rebecca Donaldson and Mary Peterson

In this session, participants will be led through Utah’s step-by-step processes for assessing and prioritizing needs and conducting root cause analyses. These lead to the creation of a comprehensive school improvement plan that is directly linked to and based on the comprehensive needs assessment required by ESSA.
