Ebony Jason is a School Improvement Math Specialist on the Quality Schools and Districts team at WestEd.
As a highly qualified math specialist, Jason co-leads, creates, and facilitates professional learning for teachers, coaches, and school administrators. She specializes in standards-based math curriculum and instruction, student motivation and engagement, professional learning communities (PLCs), and teacher effectiveness in diverse classrooms.
Before joining WestEd, Jason served as Secondary Math Coach for two years at an urban district in North Carolina. There, she assisted educators as they switched from traditional school to online learning and back to hybrid and in-person instruction. Previously, Jason also served as a districtwide testing and accountability coordinator, school improvement grant coordinator, and a secondary math teacher in Title 1 schools. She concluded her time in the classroom serving 9th- and 10th-grade minority and English language learners in Math 1.
Ebony has held leadership positions on state and local educational teams, including the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM) and the district Teacher Advocacy Committee (TAC). Jason graduated from North Carolina State University’s Northeast Leadership Academy (NELA), where she received a master’s in school administration.
