As Technology Projects Senior Manager at WestEd, Josh Klein oversees a diverse portfolio of custom technology solutions for the agency’s program staff and departments. His focus is on ensuring well-managed, secure, effective technologies and highly functioning technical teams.
Klein is an expert in education data and technology initiatives, with extensive experience leading complex projects in the public and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining WestEd in 2021, he directed State Data Operations for NWEA. Klein has also worked as the Chief Information Officer for both Portland Public Schools and the Oregon Department of Education. In these roles, Klein served as Project Director on several successful Statewide Longitudinal Data System grants and multiple foundation grants with partners including the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission.
Klein received his Bachelor of Science degree in Network Administration from Denver Technical College and his Master of Business Administration with Project Management concentration from the Keller Graduate School of Management. He holds active industry certification as a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
