Mari Shikuzawa is a Program Associate for the Special Education Policy and Practice team at WestEd.
Shikuzawa serves state and local education agencies by providing technical assistance and data analysis related to special education data, funding, and policy to improve outcomes for children and youth with disabilities. She has a background in creating sustainable change though improving practices and policies that advance accountability, data literacy, and representativeness. She also serves as a technical assistance provider for the National Center for Systemic Improvement (NCSI) and the Center for IDEA Fiscal Reporting (CIFR).
Shikuzawa has an MS in international business, economics, and management from the University of Leuven and a BA in international relations from the University of the Pacific. She recently completed a graduate certificate in Leadership in Special and Inclusive Education from the University of Kansas.
