Tina Tranzor is Co-Director for the Western Educational Equity Assistance Center (WEEAC) at WestEd.
Tranzor serves the WEEAC as a subject matter expert in bullying, harassment, and discrimination and as a technical assistance facilitator. She designs and delivers professional learning sessions for school, district, and state leaders to prepare them for addressing and preventing discrimination. She also brings expertise in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Special Education policy and practice.
Tranzor’s legal education and leadership experience has uniquely positioned her to direct technical assistance for district staff who are working to sustainably resolve discrimination complaints and fulfill settlement agreements with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). She has 25 years of experience serving students and educators at all levels of the system – as an administrator in the California Department of Education, a principal in urban settings, and as a classroom teacher.
In addition to her role at WestEd, Tranzor is an adjunct professor at National University. She holds an EdS from Union University, a JD from the University of Iowa College of Law, and a BA in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
