Parents — Children’s First and Most Important Teacher
In collaboration with parents, schools, and communities, the Parent Involvement Project (PIP) is an innovative and multifaceted parent education program offered to school districts addressing the needs of underserved families beginning when children enter preschool.
Placing a high value on the concept of parents being their children’s first and most important teacher, PIP provides high-quality early learning activities for families.
PIP, a WestEd project, provides high-quality parent learning opportunities using a model comprising four closely linked and integrated components:
- Parent Participation in Their Children’s Classroom
- Parent Education Workshops
- Home Visits
- Enrichment Activities
