Date and Time:
- Thursday, April 27, 10–11 a.m. (PT) / 1–2 p.m. (ET)
Join WestEd and Texas A&M University for an information session on the Knowledge Acquisition and Transformation Expansion (KATE) program, which aims to improve reading instruction and comprehension in socioeconomically and culturally diverse schools across the country.
KATE pairs professional supports for teachers with a web-based tutoring platform to improve reading instruction and student comprehension. This program has been extensively researched, with four studies reviewed by the What Works Clearinghouse showing that KATE had strong positive effects on reading comprehension.
WestEd is also conducting a research study, in partnership with Texas A&M, to examine the impact of the KATE program in schools.
