A Spanish-language version of the animated video Getting It Right for Our Babies was recently released by UC Berkeley’s Center for the Study of Child Care Employment and the national For Our Babies initiative, led by J. Ronald Lally and Peter L. Mangione, co-directors of the WestEd Center for Child & Family Studies.

Through the story of baby Eva, the short video illustrates the financial challenges, pressures, and tough decisions regarding child care facing families and infant/toddler teachers. The film proposes three key strategies to ensure babies receive the important nurturing they need to thrive:

  • Paid parental leave
  • Affordable, quality child care
  • Investment in teachers
