Senior Research Associate Trevor Fronius with the WestEd Justice & Prevention Research Center and School Climate Specialist Jenny Betz with WestEd’s School Climate & Wellness Partnership will present at the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders’ 2019 Summer Conference, July 14 through July 17, in Jekyll Island, Georgia.
During the event, Georgia education leaders will participate in sessions, led by a diverse group of experts, that focus on what it takes to make schools safe, supportive, and trauma-informed.

Using Trauma-Informed Practices to Improve School Climate

In this session, participants will:
- Gain insight from research on the benefits of trauma-informed practices on school climate and on teaching and learning
- Learn about tools designed to help identify where school systems fall along a continuum of trauma-inducing to trauma-informed
- Discuss vignettes and short case studies
Participants will leave with several strategies that can be implemented right away.
