Trevor Fronius, Senior Research Associate with the WestEd Justice & Prevention Research Center, will present at the 2019 Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Leadership Forum: Supporting Our Most Vulnerable Children and Youth, held October 3 through 4, at the Hilton Chicago. Presentation details are below.

Hosted by the OSEP Technical Assistance Center, this two-day conference is an opportunity for school, state, district, and regional leadership teams to develop, organize, and deliver trainings around a wide range of advanced topics related to improving the efficacy of PBIS implementation.

Presentation: Protection Through Prevention: The Role of School Resources Officers Within a PBIS Framework

Based on two years of data from school resource officers (SROs) about their encounters with students, the presenters will describe common problems in school policing, examine the range of police-student encounters as reported by SROs, and identify strategies for including SROs in PBIS planning.
