Session: Community College Leadership Practices for Scaling and Implementation of a Promising Mathematics Initiative

Presenters: Angela Knotts, Mathematics Research Associate, WestEd; Carlos Sandoval, Improvement Specialist, WestEd; and Bethany Sansing-Helton, Mathematics Professor, Madison College
Mathematics pathways have proven promising approaches to address barriers for postsecondary students. Despite their effectiveness, these efforts face challenges regarding their scale. In this session, presenters will:
- Examine how leaders champion math pathways in their institutions
- Explore leadership practices to understand how leaders advocate for the scaling of math pathways
- Identify two leadership practices that leaders engage in
- Reveal how leaders resource efforts to scale math pathways
