Tia Taylor serves as a Senior Program Associate supporting the Region 15 Comprehensive Center (R15CC) and the Western Educational Equity Assistance Center. In this role, she leverages her experience and expertise in school finance, resource allocation, and leadership development. With extensive experience with budget development, strategic planning, and resource alignment, her work focuses on systems change and transformation.
For more than a decade, Taylor has worked to pursue the equitable distribution of resources that balances compliance with meeting the educational needs of students. Her professional goal is to eliminate resource inequities and ensure that each student has access to a quality education. Taylor provides support to educational leaders in developing equity-driven resource allocation methods by exploring strategies for braiding and blending state and federal funds to maximize the use of precious resources and expand access to programs and services for all students.
Prior to joining WestEd, Taylor worked in school districts in the areas of program planning, budget development, and accounting. In addition, she supported district leadership teams in the development of California’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and worked to align other federal and state plans as well as school improvement plans to the LCAP. Taylor also held a variety of accounting and administrative support positions with other state agencies and private sector corporations.
Taylor holds a BS in business administration with a concentration in accountancy and an MA in educational leadership and policy studies from California State University, Sacramento.
